Marshmallow Snowmen
(almost too cute to eat!)

Make these marshmallow snowmen in minutes! All you need are marshmallows, white candy melts, and some small candies. We added these adorable plastic toques we found at a cake decorating store.

Stuff you'll need ...

  • marshmallows (we used vegan - delicious!)
  • candy melts (we used Guittard brand but others will work)
  • lollipop sticks
  • candies or mini chocolate chips
  • hats or other decorations

What to do ...

  1. Using a microwave or double boiler, heat the candy melts according to instructions. (If you're using the microwave, make the intervals quite small (5 to 10 seconds) between stirring to avoid burning.)

  2. Poke a hole all the way through each marshmallow.

  3. Dip the marshmallows into the melts fully.

  4. Gently tap the stick on the side of the bowl or cup to remove excess coating. Hold it for a minute or so while letting it drip. Turn the stick slowly so the coating stays as smooth as possible. If one side ends up a bit thicker, just make that the back. ;)

  5. Add faces, hats, or scarves when coating is starting to dry. If it's too wet, faces will droop; if it's too dry, pieces won't stick.

  6. Poke the stick into a styrofoam block (we have ours wrapped in paper to avoid any dust).

  7. When completely dry ... eat! Or wrap in cellophane baggies with a ribbon to give out as party favors.

*Tip* Make a cute display of these by adding "snow" to the base. Then guests can pick one on their way out.
