Pretty Votive Candle Favors

Votive candle favors are a great way to say thank you to your guests or party hostess. They are especially great as wedding votive candles whether you give them out or use them as part of your centerpieces.

There are so many pretty designs and colors to choose. Or, you can get creative and decorate the votive holder yourself!

Pick up some simple glass holders and candles at a craft or dollar store. Use ribbon, raffia, glitter, or cord and a dangly jewel as we did here. They are really simple and turned out quite elegant.

If you're adding ribbon or raffia, simply wrap it around the votive holder and tie it in a bow. Leave the ends quite long until you get your bow looking the way you'd like. Then trim the ends off.

If your candle holder is straight up and down or even wider at the top than the bottom, you can add a touch of hot glue underneath the ribbon to hold it in place.

See below for instructions to make the votive candle favors pictured above.

Stuff you'll need ...

  • votive holder
  • candle
  • jewelry cord (we used faux suede) or ribbon
  • jewelry wire or head pins
  • beads
  • long-nose pliers
  • round-nose pliers
  • wire cutters

What to do ...

  1. Start by creating a pretty bead dangle. Use beads and a head pin or some jewelry wire.
  2. Tie cord or ribbon around the votive holder.
  3. Slide the dangle over the cord and then tie it in a bow.
  4. Trim the ends of the cord to neaten the bow.
  5. If necessary, add a dab of glue behind the cord to keep it from slipping.

How to create a bead dangle ...

Feed beads on to a head pin.

Using flat-nose pliers bend head pin directly
above beads at a 90 degree angle.

Using round-nose pliers, curve head pin
back around to form a loop.
